There is nothing worse than discovering that you have bugs in your home. Seriously, coming downstairs and finding yourself eye-to-eye with ants, spiders, mice… it’s awful. But pest control solutions are so toxic, full of chemicals that you probably wouldn’t welcome into your home in a normal situation. Never fear, there are some natural solutions you can try first for your pest problem.
The easiest thing you can do when dealing with ants is to wipe everything down with a vinegar solution. Put one part vinegar – apple cider or white is best! – and one part water in a spray bottle, and wipe down all your counters or floors where you’ve seen ants. This clears their trail, and means they are less likely to return.
If you’re dealing with pests outside, put mint leaves and garlic cloves in a food processor with a bit of cayenne. Bring it to a boil, then let it cool. Add a drop of dishwashing liquid at the end, and let it sit overnight. Then, strain it and add to a spray bottle. Bam! Easy and cheap outdoor pest control.
