No one likes having to plan time to hit the gym. If you’re a busy professional, odds are good that you just don’t have a lot of spare time to devote to working out. That being said, it’s important that you make keeping yourself healthy and fit and priority. Here are our tips for sneaking workouts into your regular schedule.

Get a Standing Desk

A quick way to get yourself into a fitness mindset is to buy a desk that can convert into a standing desk. This will allow you to spend some time on your feet while you’re working. Ideally, this means that you should be able to increase your time standing, moving, and walking throughout the day.

If you already work on your feet, that’s great! You could consider trying to use the job as a way to get more exercise in between your work responsibilities by jogging in place, walking around your workspace, or even getting in a few squats!

Walking and Jogging

Try parking farther from the entrance to your work or a shop you’re visiting. Walking is good basic cardio and helps get your blood pumping. You could also try to sneak in a walk or a jog around your office building.

Alternately, opt to wake up early and tale a jog around the neighborhood. This might sound miserable for night owls, but there’s another solution for people who hate getting up early: get your jog in late at night, just before you shower and hit the bed.

Home Workout

While we’re on the subject of working out near home, you could also consider investing in some home workout equipment. Even simple equipment like a workout mat, some free weights, and a pair of running shoes can carry you a long way when it comes to getting your workout in at home.

Those who have busy evenings can wake up early and get in a few reps with the free weights, hit the exercise mat for some pushups or curls, and then take a quick jog around the neighborhood. Likewise, those who have busy mornings, like people with kids, can choose to get their home workout in later in the evening after the kids are already in bed.
